An electric power system and a control method thereof are provided to protect another load from one load that consumes electric power in pulse type. The electric power system of the present invention comprises: a decentralized power source connected to a first line; a first load connected to the first line; a second load connected to a second line, which consumes pulse power; and a power converting device whose control band is lower than the frequency of the pulse power consumed by the second load, and which converts the power of the first line and supplies to the second line.
