The present invention relates to a cell discovery operation method used in a terminal and a device thereof. The method is used to conduct a cell discovery operation when a small cell discovery signal which is distinct from a conventional primary synchronization signal or secondary synchronization signal (PSS/SSS) and cell specific reference signal (CRS) used for the cell discovery of a conventional system.
