The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for detecting an event generated in a target device in a smart plug device installed a power supply route applied to the target device. For the foregoing, a power measuring unit comprising the smart plug measures supply power to the target device, and an event determining unit predicts an event generated in the target device on the basis of a power signal characteristic having the supply power measured by the power measuring unit. The power signal characteristic indicates a change characteristic of the supply power caused by generating the event based on supply power before generating the event in the target device. |
