<p>Relates to the epimers of a -aminobenzyl-pencillin, 6-[D(-)a -aminophenylacetamido]-penicillanic acid and 6-[L(+)a -aminophenyl-acetamido]-penicillanic acid and non-toxic salts thereof, which may be prepared by coupling 6-amino-penicillanic acid with the D-or L-form of a -aminophenylacetic acid having its amino group protected, or a salt thereof, and thereafter removing the protecting group under sufficiently mild conditions to avoid destruction of the penicillin nucleus, e.g. by catalytic hydrogenation.</p> |
