PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high output source of an electromagnetic radiation having a multipurpose housing.SOLUTION: A multipurpose housing includes an interior 18 filled with at least a material forming a light source, and further includes a reflector capable of wrapping a laser rod surrounded by the light source in order to provide photoexcitation to the laser rod. A material defining an outer surface 19 of the light source extends to the outer surface of the reflector and defines the outer surface. A high reflectance coating is arranged over the outer surface of the reflector as a protective coating. Likewise, an optional heat sink can be arranged on the outer surface of the reflector, and cooling is performed with optional arrangement of forced air moving over the entire heat sink. The light source may be a light source lamp, and the high reflectance coating may be formed so as to wrap the reflector. |
