a driving transistor including a control terminal, a first terminal, and a second terminal, the driving transistor being configured to control supply of current to a light emitting element in accordance with a signal voltage applied to the control terminal, the light emitting element being connected to the first terminal and configured to emit light in accordance with an amount of the current; a switching unit configured to be capable of switching a conduction state and a non-conduction state, the switching unit being configured to, by being brought in the conduction state, form a path that bypasses the light emitting element in a manner that the current is not supplied to the light emitting element; and a control unit configured to perform control in a manner that the switching unit is brought in the non-conduction state from the conduction state after the signal voltage is written into the control terminal, the control unit being configured to control a potential of the control terminal in synchronization with the control of the switching unit.
