The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a touch panel, which has high accuracy for electrode pattern formation and enables the production of a touch panel that has excellent durability and visibility. A method for producing a touch panel provided with a transparent electrode according to the present invention is characterized in that the transparent electrode is formed at least by: step 1 wherein an intermediate layer and a silver thin film electrode that is adjacent to the intermediate layer and is mainly formed of silver are sequentially formed in this order on at least a transparent substrate; and step 2 wherein an electrode pattern is formed by subjecting the thus-formed silver thin film electrode and the intermediate layer to a photolithography process using an etching liquid containing at least an organic solvent.
