NON-RECIPROCAL CIRCUIT ELEMENT

An objective of the present invention is to achieve a lower height for a non-reciprocal circuit element and reduce the surface area taken up thereby in installation. The non-reciprocal circuit element comprises ferrite (20) with multiple central conductors disposed therein. The ferrite (20) has a top face and a bottom face which are mutually opposing, and lateral faces which intersect the top face and the bottom face. A direct current magnetic field is imparted to the ferrite (20) by a first permanent magnet (31) which is positioned upon the top face side of the ferrite (20) and a second permanent magnet (32) which is positioned upon the bottom face side thereof. At least one of the permanent magnets among the first and second permanent magnets (31, 32) has a smaller area than the top face and/or the bottom face of the ferrite (20). External connection electrodes (41-46) of each of the central conductors are extended in exposed portions of the ferrite (20) which are formed when the permanent magnet(s) with the small area is/are positioned upon the top face and/or the bottom face of the ferrite (20).
