<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle in which strength of a deforming part of optical fiber is secured to prevent occurrence of fractures and cracks while a core in an end surface on an optical element side of the optical fiber is reduced to contribute to reduction in overall length of an optical module, and movement of the optical fiber during use of the optical module is suppressed to be able to prevent reduction of coupling efficiency.SOLUTION: An optical receptacle 1 includes a fiber stub 4 including an optical fiber 2 having a core and a clad, a ferrule 3 having a through hole, and an elastic member 9 for fixing the optical fiber 2 to the ferrule. The optical fiber 2 is arranged in the through hole 3c over the whole range and has a portion in which a core diameter and a fiber outer diameter are gradually reduced toward an end surface thereof on a side opposite to a side of optical connection to a plug ferrule of the ferrule 3, and the elastic member 9 is filled in a space between the optical fiber 2 and an inner wall of the through hole 3c.</p> |
