PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform, at a suitable time point, automatic determination of a main subject in a captured image and outputting a result of determination of the main subject.SOLUTION: An imaging system comprises: a stable imaging state estimation unit which performs stable imaging state estimation to estimate whether an imaging state is stable or not; and a main subject determination unit which performs main subject determination. The main subject determination unit outputs the result of the main subject determination in a case when the stable imaging state estimation estimates that the imaging state is stable.
