The present invention relates to a method, device, and system for configuring a maintenance association (MA). Configured on an optical line terminal (OLT) is a correspondence relationship of an MA and a maintenance association end point (MEP) and a correspondence relationship of the MEP and an optical network unit (ONU), where the configured MA comprises an MA virtual local area network (VLAN), and the configured MEP comprises an MEP VLAN. The method for configuring an MA comprises: the OLT transmits a configuration message to an ONU to which an MEP belongs, where the configuration message carries an MEP having MEP VLAN as a valid value and an MA having MA VLAN as an invalid value, thus allowing the ONU to which the MEP belongs to use the MA in the configuration message as a local MA and to use the MEP VLAN in the configuration message as a VLAN for packet forwarding. |
