The laminated composite radius filler (70) further has a geometric shaped filler element (100) positioned at a desired location (120) on a first portion (108a) of the stacked ply assembly (108). The geometric shaped filler element (100) deforms a second portion (108b) of the stacked ply assembly (108) stacked over the geometric shaped filler element (100), such that the laminate radius filler plies (1 Ob, 1 Oc, 1 Od) of the second portion (108b) of the stacked ply assembly (108) change direction and have a component of direction (116) including a horizontal direction (1 18a) and a vertical direction (118b).
