PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of making a high-precision recording position adjustment without increasing the number of patterns which are recorded for a plurality of scanning speeds of a recording head in registration processing.SOLUTION: A recording device which can have a scanning speed set forms a plurality of adjustment patterns differing in deviation amount corresponding to a difference in relative recording position between a first pattern and a second pattern for each of the scanning speed. Then adjustment values based upon the plurality of the adjustment patterns formed to adjust a recording position are acquired for the respective scanning speeds. Here, an adjustment value for a first scanning speed is acquired before an adjustment pattern for a second scanning speed is formed, an adjustment pattern is formed by scanning at the second scanning speed within a deviation amount range 1202 based upon the adjustment value acquired for the first scanning speed, and an adjustment value for the second scanning speed based upon the adjustment pattern formed by the scanning at the second scanning speed is acquired. |
