PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head gimbal assembly and a disc device capable of suppressing load beam vibration.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a head gimbal assembly includes: a load beam 35; a flexure 40 attached onto the load beam 35; a gimbal section 36 formed by a distal end of the flexure 40; a magnetic head 17 attached to the gimbal section 36; and a piezoelectric element 50 fixed to the gimbal section 36 and extendible along a longitudinal direction of the flexure 40. In the gimbal section 36, a metallic thin plate 44a of the flexure 40 includes: a tongue 36a to which the magnetic head 17 is fixed; a proximal end 36b located to be distanced from the tongue 36 and fixed to the load beam 35; a first support 36d located near the tongue 36a between the tongue 36a and the proximal end 36b; and a second support 36e located near the proximal end 36b between the tongue 36a and the proximal end 36b. Both ends of the piezoelectric element 50 are supported on the first and second supports 36d and 36e via an insulating layer, respectively, and the second support 36e is separated from the proximal end 36b. |
