PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily manufacturing a flexible device substrate and a display device manufactured using the method.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a device substrate includes forming a surface modifying layer on a process substrate, where the surface modifying layer has hydrophobicity different from hydrophobicity of the process substrate; disposing the process substrate on a carrier substrate, where the surface modifying layer is disposed between the process substrate and the carrier substrate; forming a device on a face of the process substrate opposite to the face on which the surface modifying layer is formed; and separating the process substrate from the carrier substrate.
