The invention relates to a lighting device for a vehicle, including at least one light source (3) having a light-emitting diode (LED) and an elongate light guide (6) having a proximal end that is located on a line of propagation of the light from the light source (3), said lighting device being characterised in that the light guide (6) includes: a portion for transmitting light (70) in a transparent material which extends over the entire length of the light guide; an elongate diffusing portion (64) extending in the direction of extension of the light guide over only a portion of the length of the light guide (6) and suitable for diffusing, via a side surface (F) for outputting light, at least 10 % of the total light from the light guide (6); from the proximal end thereof, a straight region (61) consisting only of the portion for transmitting light (70) and beyond the straight portion (61) in the direction of the distal end thereof, a curved region (62), the diffusing portion (64) being located between the straight portion (61) and the distal end and extending at least partially into the curved region (62); and a distal end which is formed by the portion for transmitting light and which has a planar end surface (72) forming a non-straight obtuse angle (a) that is different from the right angle h with the mean fibre (Fi) of the light guide (6). |
