摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-working method which can reduce or eliminate undesired deformation of a metal member into a composite member layer during a cold-working process and further reduce or eliminate residual chips of the composite member and adhesion of the residual chips onto a cold-working tool without disassembling a stack of the composite member and the metal member.SOLUTION: A mandrel 56, which can be inserted into a hole 40 of a stack 22 of composite members 26 and 28 and a metal member 24, includes an expandable tool member having a spacer member 48 which is extended circumferentially around a split sleeve 42 and has a larger diameter and has a diameter expanded part 56a, is loaded into and then pulled out from the tool member, so that the spacer member contacts only a metal layer of the stack to apply compressing force and enlarges a diameter of a hole part of the metal member by cold working.
