The present invention relates to an apparatus for testing a fuel injection pump comprising: a drive unit to lift a plunger included in a fuel injection pump to be tested; a first sensor unit coupled to the fuel injection pump and measuring a gap between a barrel where the plunger is installed and the plunger; and a test unit deriving a shaft trajectory of the plunger from the gap obtained by the first sensor unit. According to the present invention, the present invention figures out the gap between the plunger and the barrel through the shaft trajectory of the plunger derived by the test unit to evaluate a lubricating property of the fuel injection pump so as to be capable of developing the fuel injection pump suitable for characteristics of usage.
