A computer-implemented method for generating environmental impact offsets for payment card transactions is described. The method implemented using a computing device in communication with a memory. The method includes storing, in the memory, a plurality of offset factors associated with a plurality of merchants, receiving a first authorization request message for a payment transaction originating from an originating merchant for a cardholder that includes a transaction amount, determining the offset factor associated with the originating merchant, calculating, by the computing device, an offset amount based on the transaction amount and the offset factor, outputting the offset amount.

1. A computer-implemented method for generating environmental impact offsets for payment card transactions, said method implemented using a computing device in communication with a memory, said method comprising:
storing, in the memory, at least one of a plurality of offset factors associated with at least one of a plurality of merchants; receiving a first authorization request message for a payment transaction originating from an originating merchant for a cardholder that includes a transaction amount; determining the offset factor associated with the originating merchant; calculating, by the computing device, an offset amount based on the transaction amount and the offset factor; and outputting the offset amount.
