The present invention relates to a drive control system for an electric bicycle and a drive control method using the same and, more specifically, relates to the drive control system for an electric bicycle and the drive control method using the same, which detects a rotational speed of a drive shaft wherein a pedal is mounted to follow the same using a method which operates a drive motor, comprising: a pedal rotational speed detection unit detecting a drive shaft rotational speed as a rotational speed of a drive shaft wherein a pedal of a bicycle is mounted; and a control unit which calculates a motor rotational speed wherein an additional speed is combined to the detected drive shaft rotational speed, and commands the driving of a motor connected to the drive shaft in accordance with the calculated motor rotational speed. The control unit compares the drive shaft rotational speed with the motor rotational speed after the motor begins to be driven, and controls the motor rotational speed to be the same as the drive shaft rotational speed in the drive control system for an electric bicycle.
