The present invention relates to a personalized channel providing method and a content recommendation method thereof. The present invention analyzes the usage pattern of a viewer to provide specific channels customized to the viewer and uses the usage pattern of the viewer to recommend contents such as information, VOD, shopping, and the like. The method includes the steps of: collecting the information regarding the purchase history, cart history, wish list history, view history, search history, and download history while the viewer watches a TV; analyzing the metadata including genres, categories, and themes to recommend one or more channels and similar contents for the viewer; scheduling the broadcast contents, VOD contents, and other contents based on the recommended channels and contents; and transmitting the broadcast contents, VOD contents, and other contents based on the schedule. |
