摘要 The invention relates to the medical diagnostic equipment and can be used for non-invasive skin melanoma differentiation from non-malignant nevus. The invention is aimed at improving accuracy of differentiation in an apparatus employing acquisition and processing of optical density images in a small number of spectral bands. To reach this goal, an apparatus is proposed acquiring 3 images of the skin area in different spectral bands, separating fragments of these images including a skin lesion of interest, calculating pixel mean value and standard deviation for these fragments in each spectral band, and comparing calculated values with corresponding threshold values obtained during the preparation period. Presence of melanoma is testified by cases where the estimated parameter value exceeds the threshold value, and melanoma is detected using the weighted majority principle taking into account that standard deviation parameters are more informative and therefore assigned higher weights.
