PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device equipped with a light diffusion film which has sufficient moire elimination capacity and scratch resistance having uniform front luminance with no deterioration, when used, especially, as a surface light source device of a liquid crystal display device, and provide a liquid crystal display device equipped with the surface light source device.SOLUTION: The surface light source device has a light source 1a, a condensing sheet having a plurality of light-condensing parts 4a, and a light diffusion film 3a provided in this order. The light diffusion film 3a is a resin film which has a sea-island structure made of a continuous phase corresponding to sea and a dispersion phase corresponding to islands, and the image visibility of the light diffusion film 3a is in a range of 0.8-5.0% in a measurement using an optical comb of 0.25 mm width, and the total light transmittance is 91.0% or more. |
