An apparatus for displaying object using head-up display and a method thereof are provided to detect an obstacle in the front by using a front camera and to display the detected object at the pertinent position of a head-up display screen corresponding to the direction and position where the object is detected. The apparatus of the present invention is provided by comprising: a shooting unit that shoots a front image of a vehicle by using a camera; a vehicle speed detecting unit that detects the driving speed of a vehicle; and a control unit that receives the front image of the vehicle that is shot, divides the same into n number of different blocks, compares the previous image frame and the next image frame, which are divided into n number of different blocks, extracts the motion pattern of object by block, group individual groups showing the same or similar motion pattern into one large block, extracts the coordinate of the large block of a group, and displays the block at the corresponding position in a head-up display screen. |
