<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater and a control method for the water heater allowing the efficient use of hot water in a circulating tank and preventing, to the utmost, mixing of return hot water from the circulating tank into a hot water supply tank. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater includes a heat pump 2; a plurality of hot water supply tanks 3 storing hot water of high temperature heated by the heat pump 2; a circulating line 9 connected to the heat pump 2 and having high-temperature hot water piping 23 connected to the hot water supply tanks 3; and a mixing valve 5 mixing hot water led from the circulating line 9 with the high-temperature hot water led from the high-temperature hot water piping 23 and leading out the mixed hot water to the circulating line 9. The circulating line 9 has a circulating tank 4; circulating temperature detecting means TC-L, TC-U detecting the temperature of hot water in the circulating tank 4; a circulating line selector valve 8 supplying hot water on the high temperature side of the circulating tank 4 to the mixing valve 5 or the high-temperature hot water piping 23 according to the circulating temperature detecting means TC-L, TC-U; and a circulating line shutoff valve 7 allowing the hot water on the high temperature side of the circulating tank 4 to join the high temperature hot water piping 23, interlocked with the selection of the circulating line selector valve 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
