<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture an optical fiber for mode coupling without requiring processing of removing a clad by etching or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This optical fiber 100 for mode coupling includes a plurality of optical fibers 111 each of which has a core 111b constituted by a part surrounded by a plurality of pores 111a extending in the length direction.
