<p>The present invention can determine the type of a biological object at the time of acquiring biological information. A direction determination unit (10a) determines the direction of a biological object with respect to a reading unit (2). A type determination unit (10b) determines the type of the biological object on the basis of the determined direction. An information generating unit (10c) generates biological information indicating characteristics of the biological object on the basis of the result of reading the biological object with the reading unit (2), and stores, in a biological characteristic information storage unit (11), biological characteristic information including said biological information and the type determined by the type determination unit (10b).</p> |
