<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate resin expressing a high refractive index and excellent heat resistance, having fluidity suitable for molding and hardly expressing optical distortion with low birefringence, and to provide an optical molded bodies. <P>SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin comprises principal repeating units consisting of a repeating unit (A) and a bisphenyl-based carbonate unit (B), wherein the molar ratio of them (A/B) is≥20/80 and≤99/1, and has specific viscosity of≥0.20 and≤1.50 measured in a methylene chloride solution at 20°C.
