<p>A coring apparatus, generally used for coring a road surface, comprises a coring drill L for drilling out a core from material located underneath the drill and a mounting K for said drill; wherein the apparatus comprises a stabilisation system that can be used to maintain the drill at a desired orientation for drilling out said core. The stabilisation system comprising a ground contacting base G, with means for applying pressure to the base, A support E that can support weights, or on which a person can sit stand or kneel, may be part of the system. A pivotally mounted upright shaft or column may be part of the system and may be used to apply pressure directly or indirectly to the base. Also claimed is the ability of the coring drum to pivot about a vertical axis so that coring can be carried out at a second location.</p> |
