<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup/restore system for increasing the security of a logical volume in a shared disk device. <P>SOLUTION: There is disclosed an initiator installed in a backup host which is registered by a management host associated with a predetermined logical volume in a shared disk device.
