<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly maintain engine performance by removing precipitates deposited on diffusion plates provided in an exhaust pipe of a diesel engine and diffusing liquid reductant or precursor thereof injected from a reductant injection nozzle. <P>SOLUTION: When a drive shaft 26a is extended and operated by driving an actuator 26, diffusion plates 23 are rotated clockwise about a support shaft 24 via a rod 25, and the adjacent diffusion plates 23 are in contact with each other (dotted line a). Similarly, when the drive shaft 26a is retracted and operated, the diffusion plates 23 are rotated counterclockwise about the support shaft 24 via the rod 25, and the adjacent diffusion plates 23 are in contact with each other (long dashed dotted line b). The precipitates deposited on the surfaces in contact with each other are crushed and fractured, exfoliated from the surfaces of the diffusion plates 23, and fall therefrom so as to be removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
