A method and an automatic apparatus for separate collection and compaction of beverage containers (W), in metal, glass and plastic material. The containers (W) are inserted manually from above, and at random, in open cells (13) of a step conveyor (12), moved along an annular path from a loading zone (12A), through an identifying zone (15) of the containing cells and the material of the containers (W), to an unloading zone (12B) where the single containers (W) are selectively unloaded through respective trapdoors and compacted in function of the identification signals of the material of the containers (W) in the open cells (13) emitted by sensors (29) at the identifying zone (15), operationally connected to a control unit (20) of the apparatus. |
