According to the present invention, an observation apparatus using an infrared light camera and a visible light camera comprises: a camera unit including the infrared light camera and the visible light camera; a panorama image storage device which stores an image recorded by the visible light camera; a video switch which selects either a visible light image signal transmitted by the visible light camera or a visible light image signal stored in the panorama image storage device; an image signal merge unit which merges an infrared light image signal, transmitted from the infrared light camera, with the visible image signal selected by the video switch; and an image display unit which displays at least one from the infrared light image recorded by the infrared light camera, an merged image merged by the image signal merge unit, and a visible image recorded by the visible light camera. According to the present invention, the observation apparatus: has efficiency and precision of night observation which are significantly increased by combining the infrared light camera and the visible light camera; stores an recorded image in a PTZ address generated based on PTZ data and manages the recorded image; outputs the image stored in a relevant PTZ address when a user requests the observation apparatus to display the image; and thus can efficiently store and display the image. |
