<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED illumination apparatus which offers a step-down operation with low energy loss without restrictions on on-duty. <P>SOLUTION: An illumination apparatus according to an embodiment, which turns on an LED using a step-down chopper circuit, comprises: a first switching element connected to a direct-current power supply obtained by converting an alternating-current voltage; a step-down coil including a cathode connected between an anode of an LED connected to a ground of the direct-current power supply and the first switching element; and a driver IC configured to control on/off of the first switching element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
