<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless device capable of avoiding throughput degradation even if the number of terminals deviates among access categories for performing precise priority control. <P>SOLUTION: Control means 4 sets a greater contention window value than the previous value so as to allocate unused bandwidth to another access category when a channel occupancy factor ATR of an access category AC<SB POS="POST">i</SB>is smaller than a reference value ATRmin. And the control means 4 sets a smaller contention window value than the previous value so as to enable packet transmission using an increased traffic capacity when the channel occupancy factor ATR is equal to or greater than a reference value ATRmax.
