A web thickness measuring equipment and method are provided to measure the thickness of a polar plate through a control by substance, to improve the degree of uniformity of the measurement, and to enhance the reliability of the measured thickness data. The polar plate thickness measuring equipment of the present invention comprises: a roller that rotates; a polar plate wound on the roller that moves in the direction of rotation of the roller; a detecting unit that detects the intensity of radiation or image on the outer circumference surface of the roller or the outer surface of the polar plate wound on the roller; and a processor unit that uses the intensity of radiation or image detecting signal of the outer circumference surface of the roller, forms a first profile data of the outer circumference surface of the roller, classifies the first profile data into a first substance and a second substance, calculates the difference between the standard data and the measured data of the outer circumference surface of the roller, uses the calculated difference, corrects the measured data of the first substance and the second substance included in the first profile data, creates a second profile data, uses the intensity of radiation or image detecting signal of the target outer surface of the polar plate wound on the roller, creates a displacement data of the target outer surface of the polar plate, compares the second profile data and the displacement data, and calculates the thickness of the polar plate. |
