The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for personal information deletion of a head unit of a vehicle through authentication of a unique key, and relates specifically to an apparatus and method for protecting personal information by deleting the personal information of the previous user when the user of a vehicle is changed. The apparatus of the present invention is provided to distinguish the user of vehicle, to delete the personal information of the previous user, and to protect personal information, by comprising: a unique key management unit that obtains a unique key of a vehicle and the user and saves the obtained unique key; and a head unit control unit that receives a deletion request signal of a head unit of the vehicle, and, when the unique key of the user newly obtained by the unique key management unit is different from that of the previous user, sends a deletion signal to the head unit. |
