<p>A display panel device having a structure that is more reliable than that of a conventional display panel device includes: a bank and an opening surrounded by an inclined side wall of the bank; a pixel electrode that is a first electrode layer formed on the opening of the bank; a hole injection layer and an organic EL layer that are organic functional layers formed on the first electrode layer; and a common electrode that is a second electrode layer formed on the organic functional layers, wherein the first electrode layer has (i) an end portion that is in contact with the side wall of the bank so that the end portion runs on the side wall, and (ii) a depressed portion that opens upward in a peripheral portion close to the end portion.</p> |
