Disclosed are an apparatus for detecting gene sets using difference in mRNA expression levels and a method thereof. The apparatus for detecting gene sets according to the present invention includes: a first selection unit for selecting the preset number of biclusters among multiple biclusters comprised of the preset number of genes and samples; a correction unit for correcting the selected preset number of biclusters; a score calculation unit for calculating the score for each of the corrected preset number of biclusters; and a second selection unit for selecting at least one bicluster based on the calculated scores.
