<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrocardiograph for issuing alarm to give notification to a diagnosed person when a contact defect occurs or a battery voltage to drive the electrocardiograph is at a level equal to or less than a prescribed one concerning the electrocardiograph for measuring electrocardiographic waveforms by winding a belt around the breast of the diagnosed person and pressurizing electrodes against the breast. <P>SOLUTION: The electrocardiograph 1 performs measurement so as to transmit electrocardiographic waveform data to a computer 2. When the computer 2 determines that the waveforms are normal, an indication is issued to record the effect in a storage medium 7 attached to the electrocardiograph 1. When the waveforms are not normal, a vibration motor 9 for giving a vibration to the breast is driven. When the battery voltage is equal to or less than the prescribed voltage during recording in the storage medium 7, the alarm is issued with the use of a red LED 5R.
