[Alsoin Group XXII] A power operated lawn mower is provided with a frame comprising two steel tubular crossbars, the ends of which are embedded in end plates of cast aluminium, one of the cross-bars being embedded in a cutter bar support of cast aluminium. The mower is provided with a cutter reel 32 which is concentrically mounted so that it can be adjusted relatively to the cutter bar support. An electric motor 35 drives the cutter reel through a gear-box 70 and also wheels 160. the reel 32 being provided with wheels 132 which positionally engage the wheels 160. The wheels 160 are mounted on arms 150 pivoted in the endplates and biased by springs 170 so that the wheels 160 engage the driving wheels 132. A handle assembly 38 is pivoted on the endplates and is provided with a cam roller 206 which engages in an opening 211 on the arms 150 so that by moving the handles the drive to the wheels 160 can be controlled. A rear roller 177 is adjustably attached to the endplates. The motor is controlled by a switch 48 and the cable 49 extends from one of the handles 44.
