<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check the presence/absence of a defect, regardless of a shape or a position of the defect, when performing a check using a guide wave. <P>SOLUTION: A guide wave checking device 10 transmits guide waves from two or more directions to a measurement region 2a of a tank 1. If there is a defect within the measurement region 2a, as a result, reflection waves from the defect are received. When a reflection wave is received in at least one direction, it is determined that a defect exists within the measurement region 2a. The measurement is performed by determining the measurement regions to cover a check region 2 predetermined in the tank and if no reflection wave is received at any position within the check region 2, soundness of the tank 1 is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
