An adjustable front axle 1 of a vehicle, particularly a tractor, comprises a substantially upright pivot pin 4 having mounted on its lower end a stub axle 13 for a front wheel 8 of the vehicle, the lower end of the pivot pin being provided with a plurality of notches, such as 15, and the stub axle being held in position on the pivot pin by means of a bolt 14 passing through the stub axle and engaging in one of the notches. The pivot pin 4 is slidably mounted in a member 2 which accommodates cup springs 3 and is slidably mounted in the axle 1. A saddle clamp 17 holds the stub axle 13 against flats 18 on the lower end of the pivot pin 4 while internal projections 9 on a sleeve affixed to the pin 4 co-operate with projections 7 on the member 2 to limit the steering lock. Retaining clips 23 welded to the mudguard stays 21 are provided with apertures for engagement by the bolt 14. |
