A method of delivering content across a network, a computer program, content delivery server and network are disclosed. The method comprises: receiving a request for content at a transparent origin server located within a local network, said request comprising an identifier of an origin server storing said content and an identifier of said content, said origin server being located outside of said local network; determining if said content identifier is an exclusive content identifier for said content or if said content identifier is one of a plurality of coded content identifiers identifying a same content and if said content identifier is said one of said plurality of coded content identifiers, decoding said coded content identifier to generate an updated content identifier and replacing said coded content identifier with said updated content identifier; and redirecting said request to a content delivery server for delivering locally stored content, said content delivery server being located within said local network. |
