In the method of trapping over-sprayed liquid in a lacquer-spraying booth by means of water, the water contains an organic protective colloid which is soluble in water or swellable in water. Suitable colloids include casein, glue, gelatine, aga-aga, and alginates; the preferred substances are cellulose ethers such as methyl-, ethyl- or oxyethyl-cellulose, and especially carboxymethyl- or carboxyethyl-cellulose. The water may also contain inorganic phosphates or silicates, ionic or non-ionic dispersing agents, and anti-foaming agents. |
