An enclosure means can fit over a ruptured pipe or fitting to contain any fluid, substance or gas leaking from it, or can be used with an electrical cable or wire. The enclosure means forms a sealed cavity around the ruptured pipe or fitting. Epoxy resin, foam, cement, plastic or rubber may also be applied manually to the cavity 1b before placing the enclosure around the pipe, or applied afterwards through injection ports (7a, Fig 7) by mechanical means such as by pump. The enclosure may comprise of a single housing which is flexible or may comprise of two housings joined together by a hinge. The enclosure means may also be used for containing damaged electrical cables and provide a connector (11a, Fig 11) and provide a fluid or heat resistant seal. The enclosure means may have locking nuts (12a, Fig 12) of different types to tighten around different sizes of cable. The enclosure means may also be used to go around pipe springs to provide a safe method of either cutting the spring or moving to another location.
|
