<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for predicting onset risk of age-related macular degeneration, and to provide a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The identification of ANKRD38 gene, XRCC4 gene, TRIM29 gene, CHST11 gene and IBSP gene as the AMD susceptibility gene has been cleared. There is provided a system for estimating the onset risk of age-related macular degeneration. The estimation system comprises a means for typing the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of the AMD susceptibility gene in a test sample and inputting the result, a means for setting the SNP associated with susceptibility to age-related macular degeneration, and a means for determining whether the test sample is susceptible to the disease based on the inputted typing result and the setting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
