The method involves forming virtual beams in different respective main radiation directions from individual signals, and searching presence of broadcast signals in the virtual beams. Respective contributions of detected broadcast signal to different individual signals are attenuated relative to detection iteration for part of the virtual beams formed during another detection iteration. The respective contributions of detected broadcast signal to the different individual signals are estimated. A demodulated signal is estimated from the detected broadcast signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product storing a set of instructions to perform a method for detecting broadcast signals transmitted by terrestrial sources and received by a satellite (2) a processing device (3) a system for detecting broadcast signals transmitted by terrestrial sources and received by a satellite.
