The present invention relates to a brake apparatus for vehicles comprising: a conversion unit converting frictional heat between a brake disk and a brake pad into electric energy; and a wear amount calculating unit calculating the wear amount of the brake pad based on the power amount of the conversion unit. Energy efficiency is increased by converting heat energy into electric energy by keeping heat energy. Also, state of the brake pad such as the wear amount or the temperature can be recognized to a driver. |
