According to the present invention, a voice recognition system includes: a voice recognition unit receiving a voice command from a user; and a control unit which determines at least one of the current usage status of the user regarding a display device and a function currently being executed by the display device, determines an operation responding to the received voice command by using at least one of the current usage status of the user regarding a display device and a function currently being executed by the display device, and controls the display device to execute the determined operation. Accordingly, the voice recognition system provided by the present invention can analyze the current usage status of the user regarding the display device to execute a voice recognition function intended by the user.
